1) Barcelona - Striker

Currently, the Catalan giants boast of the best strike force in the world with the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar proving to be too much to handle for oppositions. However, what the club definitely lacks is a back-up option should one of them get injured or have a rough patch (they are human after all).

The club’s management has been vocal about their desire to sign a fourth striker. However, they have not been able to eke out a deal as either none of the linked players are ready to be drafted in as a back up to the destructive trio or the respective clubs have not been able to come to a conclusive pricing.

Recent news suggests that the club has approached the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Mario Gomez and Robin van Persie with the club. Signing one of the 2 veterans mentioned in the form of Van Persie and Gomez might be the best option for Barcelona as both of them have shown that they have not lost the ability to find the back of the net.

Additionally, both of them are in the final stages of their glorious careers and would be more than happy to play a bit-part role at a huge club.

2) Real Madrid - Defensive Midfielder

The side that is filled with supreme attacking power found the right balance only when they drafted in the Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro in its midfield. While the Brazilian has gone about the business of destroying the opposition’s rhythm consistently in the past, we believe that the side needs at least one more defensive midfielder amongst its ranks.

Unsurprisingly, the side has been linked with numerous defensive midfielders in the current transfer window, with the likes of Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante, Marco Veratti and Nemanja Matic being linked. However, with time running out,

However, with time running out, Madrid could be forced into a panic buy later in the window and Zinedine Zidane would be best served if he can close a deal for a solid midfielder at the earliest.

3) Atletico Madrid- Central Midfielder

Diego Simeone’s side has built a reputation for itself as one of the best teams in Europe on the basis of a solid defence and one man has been at the forefront of this development, Gabi.

However, at 33 years of age, the Spaniard is not getting any younger and the side will need to find a replacement for the club captain before it is too late. The industrious midfielder played a huge role in the side finishing 3rd in the La Liga and also reaching the finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The side is currently without the required depth in the central midfield department and will need to add at least one world class midfielder to its ranks to ensure there is sufficient cover should Gabi get injured or go through a rough patch.

4) Sevilla - Striker

The departure of Sevilla’s top scorer in the last season, Kevin Gameiro to Atletico Madrid has raised concerns with regards to the attacking department of the side. While the side might have signed Luciano Vietto on a season-long loan with an option to buy, the deficit in the number of goals might be too much to handle in the end for Jorge Sampaoli’s men.

The transfer fee of the French striker is believed to be in the region of €32 Million and Sevilla should ideally look to reinvest the amount received from the player’s transfer into buying a world class striker.

Ever Banega was second on the club’s scoring charts across all competitions in the last season, a statistic that does not make for a good reading if you are a Sevilla fan and the management at the club should treat this as a matter of top priority.

5) Villarreal CF - Striker

The Yellow Submarines had a great 2015-16 season, finishing amongst the top 4 in the La Liga and reaching the Europa League semi-finals. However, the side’s deficiencies in attack were well documented and the management at the club needs to address the issue at the earliest in order to retain their position amongst the elite in Spain.

Only one Villarreal player reached the double figure mark in the previous season with Bakambu scoring 12 goals in all competitions.

While the side has signed Alexandre Pato from Chelsea on a five-year deal, the Brazilian is coming on the back of a terrible season with Chelsea and the side definitely needs to bring in more quality to the attacking department.
