Manziel, who is expected to be released by the Browns in March, allegedly assaulted ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley last month. Crowley’s attorney, Kathy Kinser, said she was struck on the side of her face and suffered a ruptured eardrum in the altercation. Kinser maintains that Crowley is still unable to hear out of that ear.

According to the Morning News, Dallas police Chief David Brown enacted the two-week patrol program “in an effort to reduce slow response times.” However, the Dallas Police Association is critical of the program, claiming it’s not effective in reducing crime and only creates a backlog of cases.
The detective working Manziel’s case is reportedly still investigating while serving his patrol duties.
