Rockstar Games had not made any formal statement on their next major title, but that changed when Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks surfaced online this past September. These were later confirmed to be authentic, and Rockstar Games expressed disappointment that its game was divulged prematurely while also affirming that progress on the forthcoming title would continue as planned. Since then, fans have been fervently searching for any information on the game in the hopes of finding hints on what to expect in Grand Theft Auto 6.

One of these fans is the owner of the Twitter account ClassiqueGTA, named for the fictional in-game car brand. They recently uncovered an unreleased shirt for GTA Online called the “Downtown Cab Co. Revere Collar.” The shirt’s design features a taxi driving through a city that does not appear to be a direct representation of Los Santos, one of Grand Theft Auto 5’s primary settings. Fans were quick to theorize that it could be a city to be featured in Grand Theft Auto 6, a popular guess being Vice City as it was spotted among the aforementioned leaks of GTA 6.
Other fans believe the city on the shirt could be a generic interpretation of Los Santos, perhaps pulling from previous concept art. Some indicators of this would be the presence of the Downtown Cab Co., the same cab company present in Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online. There is also a large mountain used as a backdrop that bears a strong similarity to Mount Chiliad from GTA 5, lending credence to the idea that this could be Los Santos.
Previous statements from tech company Microsoft suggested the possibility of Grand Theft Auto 6 releasing in 2024, though it is worth mentioning that this information did not come from Rockstar Games itself. Considering how active GTA Online is over nine years after its release, one could expect Rockstar to incorporate the formal announcement of GTA 6 into the game in some manner, especially if the game is to release within the next two years. With so little official information on the series’ next entry, Grand Theft Auto’s passionate fanbase is sure to leave no stone unturned when it comes to learning more about the next Grand Theft Auto game.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development.
