In terms of what those force abilities will turn out to be, this will depend on story progression, what kind of Jedi path producers at Respawn Entertainment decide for Cal, and what kind of twists and turns await players in Jedi Survivor. Here’s what players might be able to do in the upcoming Star Wars game.

5 Mind Trick

This ability is more common in Jedi who are incredibly strong within the force or well-versed in Jedi techniques, such as Obi-Wan, Yoda, or Anakin Skywalker before his turn to the dark side. While many fans may agree that Cal Kestis is certainly not at that level of power in comparison to those names, it is reasonable to suggest Cal has become a more formidable opponent for enemies. This would especially be most suitable if developers at Respawn Entertainment decide to implement some new RPG elements, such as optional dialogue or actions seen in titles such as The Witcher 3.

Whilst it may be unlikely that Cal may have made such a massive leap to be able to use a force ability as such, the possibility still remains. Fans are yet to see just how much Cal has learned over the five years he has spent surviving as a Jedi being hunted by the Empire.

4 Force Healing

Despite the controversy of the recent Star Wars trilogy from Disney and its largely negative reception, there is still a possibility of some of the force abilities that were showcased in the movies being replicated in Jedi Survivor. Previously, there was no ability that allowed force users to heal themselves or others. Now, however, there is the chance of this occurring more often, especially since it was once used by Grogu in The Mandalorian.

The trailer showcased Cal connecting with potential mounts. If players are going to be using these mounts often in Jedi Survivor, it would be reasonable to suggest that these may need their own method of healing, akin to what is present in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War.

3 Higher Force Jump

Hours into Fallen Order, players are able to unlock the ability to flip midair after jumping, which gave them access to areas that could not be reached beforehand. It also gave players an upper hand amid combat when in need of dodging deadly ground attacks against opponents such as Trilla. While it definitely was helpful and a much-needed upgrade to Cal’s skillset, players sometimes felt that the jumps could potentially be much higher and longer lasting than they were in that game.

As shown in the reveal trailer for Jedi Survivor, it appears this has been improved. It looks like Cal is now able to jump and use the force to pull himself forward midair, allowing him to latch onto walls and objects a lot easier than before. This ability could potentially be available to players at the beginning of the game, and could then be further upgraded during the game’s duration as players gain more XP.

2 Force Choke

Upon Cal’s attempt to retrieve the Holocron, he sees a vision of training younglings who are then later hunted down and executed, and others were taken in. Players will know of the Inquisitor Cal Kestis that appears right after this, which may have suggested multiple things. It could be what awaits Cal in his future, similar to the destiny of Anakin Skywalker becoming a Sith. Alternatively, it may represent what could have happened if he gathered all force-sensitive children for training.

RELATEd: Most Powerful Force Abilities In Star Wars

Since the force choke ability is associated with those in the dark side, it would not appear for a Jedi Cal. However, if Jedi Survivor introduces the path of the dark side for Cal or if he at the very least taps into it for a moment, there is a chance that this ability would be available to players. With the manipulation from other Sith and Inquisitors, Jedi can be swayed towards the dark side, as seen with Emperor Palpatine to Anakin Skywalker, and almost Trilla to Cal in Fallen Order.

1 Stronger Force Push & Pull/Telekinesis

Some of the more prominent abilities used in Jedi Survivor’s predecessor included the telekinesis force abilities, push and pull. These gave players the ability to push enemies away when they appeared in overwhelming numbers, whilst also pulling in enemies for a quick kill once the ability is further upgraded. With Cal almost certainly more experienced this time around, there should be a far stronger force push and pull available for players to use.

Certain enemies in Fallen Order were able to stand up to these abilities against Cal and resist them, which made it feel as though some were on par with the Padawan at the time. However, this should not be the case now. Cal is stronger, and his Force telekinesis should be stronger too.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor releases on March 17th on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
