Some items, like herbs, grow in the Enchanted Garden, and the Alchemist can collect them every day for no charge. Rare, valuable, and sometimes essential ingredients are often only available from vendors, and if one visits during a busy Potion Craft day, they can help replenish the stock, so that the resident Alchemist can better serve future customers.
If the herbs the player needs can’t be found in the Enchanted Garden in the morning, they can be purchased by the merchants that visit the shop. Each of these merchants has their own specialty.
Miner: He’s always carrying his pickaxe and wearing a sturdy helmet. He sells minerals and often asks the Alchemist for a Potion of Light or the Potion of Explosion. Fellow Alchemist: A peer but not a competitor, he sells high-level recipes, extra recipe pages, and parts for the Alchemy Machine. Traveling Merchant: This vendor sells a bit of everything and carries a mix of items that include herbs and extra recipe pages. Herb Merchant: She only sells plants, but has a wider variety and better prices than other merchants. She asks for potions to help with mosquitos, plant growth, and climbing.

7 Firebell
This often grows in the Enchanted Garden and the Alchemist gets used to having it around. They probably have a few recipes in the Alchemy Book that include this essential herb. So when it doesn’t show up in the garden, or the supply runs out, it’ll be a priority when the Herbalist comes by with her wares.
The Firebell moves almost due west across the map in a zig-zag pattern. This is the region where Alchemists can find potions for light, fire, and explosives, which are popular among the local people.
6 Mudshroom
Not many mushrooms move north into the board, and fewer even almost in a straight line and due north. The Mudshroom is moderately priced, often available in large quantities, and is one of the easiest ways to reach the Swiftness potion near the starting area.

There are other regents that Alchemists use to explore the part of the map with more active effects, but these are herbs or minerals that are often rare and expensive. Its path also has a long reach, which is something to consider when a patron asks for a potion with fewer ingredients.
5 Blood Ruby
All of the gems are useful because they can be used to pass the skull and bone areas that normally kill potions. The region of the map that’s on the top left is where the Alchemist finds popular and valuable potions like Libido, Explosion, and Rage.
The Blood Ruby moves to the northwest in an unbroken almost straight line, and is one of the few ingredients to do so. Since it’s a mineral, it can skip over the skulls and bones without harming the potion. The Miner or the Traveling Merchant might have some.
4 Thunder Thistle
Thunder Thistle is a possible ingredient for potions like Mana Regeneration, Invisibility, and Levitation, which are located in the northeastern part of the map. Mages and magic users often request these types of concoctions and are willing to pay well for them.

Another advantage of this handsome purple herb is that it can be moved in a straight line. Drop it into the cauldron without refining it in the mortar and pestle to move almost due northeast.
3 Rainbow Cap
Sometimes it’s not about finding the recipe, but getting the books of knowledge that are scattered throughout the map. Rainbow Cap moves in a long, wide spiral, which is more useful for improving the Alchemist’s skill than actually making a potion.
The use is highly situational, as there are few spaces on the board big enough to contain the entire cycle, but when the moment comes, every Alchemist wishes they had at least one.
2 Arcane Crystal
The Arcane Crystal is occasionally available from the Miner and even less often from the Traveling Merchant. This mineral moves in a perfectly straight line to the northeast, has a long reach, and is capable of skipping the skull and bone sections. That means it can reach virtually anything on this region of the Alchemy Map.

If the Alchemist has them to spare, it’s an easy way to make a Mana Potion, and they are among the more inexpensive varieties of gemstones. Invest in Arcane Crystals when they appear because they aren’t available very often.
1 Enchanted Paper
It’s great to discover and make all of these recipes, but it’s even better to write them down and make them instantly later. As long as the same regents are in the Alchemist’s inventory, the player can instantly make the same potion again, without using the map, provided the recipe has been saved.
The more recipes the Alchemist discovers, the more recipes they need to save, so the extra paper is one of the most important things available from vendors. It’s available from the other Alchemist or the Traveling Merchant.
