RELATED: Hades Achievements Not Unlocking for Some Xbox Players

The other gamepad mentioned by Wario 64 was the PowerA Hades Switch Controller. While no price was listed and preorders are not yet available, it seems likely that the price will exceed the Power-Up Mario Switch Controller based on the extra features included in the design. Some of the highlights are wireless connectivity with Bluetooth 5.0, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and the addition of 2 mappable buttons on the back of the controller, a feature normally seen on more expensive controllers such as the Xbox Elite Series. It features a red design with streaks of black near in the edge along with an image of the main character near the grip.

The announcement of a new Super Mario controller is a welcome albeit unsurprising addition to the PowerA lineup. As Nintendo’s main mascot, it’s understandable that the community would want more from the red capped plumber. Meanwhile, Hades is a more interesting choice to add to the company’s catalogue. Released back in 2018, the game became a critical success with many praising the indie title’s take on a dungeon-crawling roguelike. Recently, Hades received a physical version for the Switch.

It’s exciting for fans of these series to receive new controllers to help them showcase their love of Super Mario and Hades. It will be interesting to see what other franchises PowerA decides to release themed controllers for next.
