The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday were 12, 29, 34, 55 and 65, with a Powerball of 23. The draw had a X2 Power Play multiplier. There were no winners in the main three categories of prizes: jackpot, matching five numbers with the Power Play or matching five numbers.

That means the total winnings for the next draw roll over—and the top prize is now serious money.

On October 17, the jackpot prize (matching five numbers and the Powerball) will be $100 million.

However, it wasn’t all bad news for players. There were still winners of smaller prizes. A total of 18 participants matched four balls and the Powerball, winning $50,000. Some 242 matched four balls, netting prizes of $100, with 80 of those doubling their money thanks to the Power Play.

The lottery is held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET).

The premise is simple. It costs $2 per go, with players selecting five numbers between one and 69 for the white balls, and one number between one and 26 for the red Powerball. The top jackpot starts at $40 million and grows by $10 million if nobody wins. The Power Play, which can be added for an additional $1 per play, multiplies the non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times.

Anyone lucky enough to walk away with the jackpot can choose to receive the prize in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum cash payment. Taxes apply to all winnings. The Powerball website states the $100 Million jackpot has a cash value of $69.4 million.

The odds of winning a Powerball prize remain the same during every draw. “You have a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a prize when the advertised jackpot is $40 million. You still have a 1 in 24.9 chance of winning a prize when the advertised jackpot is $1 billion,” the official website explains.

There have been massive wins in the past. Powerball set a world record in 2016 with a win of $1.5 billion that was shared between tickets in California, Florida and Tennessee.

On August 31 this year, a 61-year-old Pennsylvania resident won $250,000 after buying a ticket after crossing state lines to service a car. He chose the alias “Over the Line Win.” In May, a couple from Maryland won $200,000 by matching four white balls and the Powerball. They told the lotto website that they would split the prize and had purchased a new animal for their horse farm.
